NEW BEGINNING CLASSES

Our Beginning Classes introduce the principles of T'ai Chi and teach the 1st Third of the Yang Style Short Form over twelve hours, either one hour a week or over two intensive weekends. Whether or not you learn more, regular practice will bring great enjoyment and great benefit.

New Weekly Beginning Classes
Learn the 1st Third of the T'ai Chi form over twelve weekly classes. Open to those who have never studied T'ai Chi as well as anyone wishing to repeat the 1st Third. We offer two new weekly classes, one on Tuesday evenings and another on Thursday mornings, plus the Weekend Intensives also listed below.

New Weekend Intensive Beginning Class
Learn the 1st Third of the Beginning Form over two intensive weekends. The intensive format provides a deeper experience of the benefits of T'ai Chi in a shorter time. Open to those who have never studied T'ai Chi as well as anyone wishing to repeat the 1st Third.

Cultivating Your Chi
Eastern cultures have long known that the best health care is daily nourishing our vital "chi" energy. Cultivating an abundant, balanced flow of this life-giving energy within us has been the foundation of Chinese philosophy, exercise and medicine for thousands of years.

Part I of Cultivating Your Chi
This evening talk introduces the basic concepts of Chinese philosophy including:

  • What is chi,
  • Where does it come from,
  • Why is it important,
  • How do we use it, and
  • How can we replenish it.

This enjoyable evening will include relaxed breathing, movement and refreshments to feel and gather our chi.

Part II of Cultivating Your Chi will introduce a series of simple movements with breathing, derived from the T'ai Chi form, that Professor Cheng taught his patients to help them regain their vitality and recover from serious illness. Whether you are sick or well, learn to cultivate your chi on the deepest levels. Regular, easy practice feels great, will enrich your life and deepen your T'ai Chi practice.

This level focuses on embodying the principles, which are the foundation of a beneficial, enjoyable and fulfilling practice. The third ten hours of this thirty-hour class, open to those who have completed the 2nd Third of Fundamentals, will begin on Monday, April 5th.
