Introduction to Tai Chi
A hybrid learning experience starting April 25, 2021
This four-week course will be taught online with optional in person and remote practice sessions. A team of experienced teachers will focus on the qualities and movements of tai chi. You will learn simple practices that cultivate a calm mind and healthy body.
• Instruction via Zoom on Sundays 9-9:45am (Pacific Time)
• Outdoor practice sessions Saturdays 9-9:30am on QA, more times and places TBD (optional)
• Weekday Zoom practice sessions 8:15-8:30am (optional)
• On-demand streaming video to review the material
If you do not live near Seattle, you are still welcome to attend. Let us know where you are and we will see if we can find a Tai Chi Foundation teacher near you who is willing to lead in-person practice sessions.
Dates: Sunday, April 25 through Sunday, May 16.
Cost: $100; scholarships available by request.
We have found that students who take this introductory class learn the tai chi form much more easily. We plan to offer a tai chi form class in May or June.
OTHER OPTIONS FOR LEARNING DURING COVID
If you have taken classes with us before, we have free online video that reviews each third of the Tai Chi form. Email us for the links.
Anyone can join us for quiet morning practice at 7:30am each day on Zoom. These sessions are not instructional, just an opportunity to practice 'with' others. Email us for information.
You can find free online tai chi and qigong videos here.
The Tai Chi Foundation, of which we are a part, has a list of free online classes being offered in the US and Europe.
We look forward to resuming in person classes when it is safe to do so.
