Introduction to Tai Chi

This four-week course will be taught by team of experienced teachers and will focus on the qualities and movements of tai chi while teaching the beginning of the Yang Style Short Form.  You will learn simple practices that cultivate a calm mind and healthy body.

The class includes:

•    Instruction outdoors on Queen Anne, Saturdays 9:45-10:30am
•    Access to weekday morning Zoom practice sessions 7:30-8am (optional)
•    On-demand streaming video to review the material

Tai Chi Principles

We'll cultivate a deeper experience of balance, flow, and relaxation. For anyone who has learned part or all of the tai chi form (Yang Style short form).  Instruction will be tailored to the needs of the students - ranging in level from early to advanced stages and we may break the class into groups based on level of experience.

Apprentice Class

We will refine our team teaching skills with an emphasis on helping students experience the qualities of relaxation, balance and flow.

OTHER OPTIONS FOR LEARNING DURING COVID

If you have taken classes with us before, we have free online video that reviews each third of the Tai Chi form. Email us for the links.
Anyone can join us for quiet morning practice at 7:30am each day on Zoom.  These sessions are not instructional, just an opportunity to practice 'with' others.  Email us for information.
You can find free online tai chi and qigong videos here.

The Tai Chi Foundation, of which we are a part, has a list of free online classes being offered in the US and Europe.

We look forward to resuming in person classes when it is safe to do so.
